--The BPD is on the defensive after Roxbury residents accused them of using unnecessary force to shut down a party on Saturday. The police says the party was so violent that 100 officers were needed to stop it. The partiers said that officers giving them black eyes, choking them, and spraying Mace all over the place was the real source of the violence.
One interesting tidbit didn't appear until the third paragraph of the Herald's story and deep into the Globe's story – that one of the party's hosts was a BPD officer, the party was at her house, and her own brother was arrested. Awkward. She isn't commenting about anything right now. As of this post, we also haven't seen anything mentioned about the incident on the BPD Blotter.
--One woman was killed and three men were shot in Mattapan last night. This is the city's 47th homicide this year.
--A guy was arrested when he pushed a BPD officer after the officer told him he was too drunk to go into the ball park. That incident isn't newsworthy, but the fact that the individual in question is named "Christopher Sucky" is. Are police sure that was Mr. Sucky's real last name or a description of how his day was going?
--Someone stole a first-edition Credence Clearwater Revival poster from the men's room of Baja Betty's Burritos in Brookline. Now we can't get the scene from the Big Lebowski, in which The Dude gets his CCR tape back, out of our heads.
