Boston Blotter: Busy Night Around Town
--The BPD was busy today and yesterday. Early this morning, four people were shot around Levant St. and self-applied to Boston Medical Center. One of them was said to be in critical condition. WHDH links the incident to a house party. Also early this morning, an attempted burglar was on the fourth floor of a building in Jamaica Plain. When the police arrived, the burglar jumped out of the window and sustained life-threatening injuries.
Elsewhere last night, 18-year-old Anthony Fernandes is accused of stabbing someone he was arguing with in the chest and back. The incident took place on Seaver Street, and police arrested Fernandes in Hyde Park. Last, but not least, police stopped a potential fight during yesterday's Caribbean Festival.
--A 19-year-old man was shot in the back early yesterday morning on Brunswick. So far, police found that a security guard fired his weapon, and they are investigating the circumstances. The man is in the hospital in critical condition.
--Yesterday morning, the BPD caught a man who may be responsible for multiple break-ins in Mission Hill. A guy discovered a stranger messing around in his apartment. The newcomer announced - helpfully, we guess - "I am taking your stuff." The burglar ran off, but police caught him and retrieved a PlayStation 2.
--A Duxbury police officer has been canned for bouncing a check to a car dealership. He is appealing his termination, but he was suspended for "similar problems" two years ago.
All charges alleged until proven under law.
