you are all out in left field, and like Manny, sometimes you just don't pay attention. Howie is a household name in a lot of places. . . everyone I know listens to him, and I know plenty of people on both sides of the aisle. Howie goes beyond his republican nature, and a lot of times, just talks about things that can bother anyone. The problem with this farce of a state is the Democrats, and Howie has no problem calling them out. That is what we respect, because everyone else is either too naive to see that the one party system sucks if it's Republican OR Democrat. Keep waving your damn blue team flag. . .nothing is going to change. . . and the good people, the informed people will leave this state just like the businesses are. Don't believe me? Listen to the radio, hear the Massachusetts business development ads? Why do you think they're playing them in this market? To try like hell to keep businesses here so Liberals can tax the bleep out of them like they have. Unfortunately, your party has ruined this state, dead and buried. You know, I should just say that everything is fine so that the liberals stay in one place, ruin one place, don't spread out to Northern NH and fight for more tax money for your damn rubbish removal.

My money is my money. Howie is my guy. Don't like? Tough.

"thrives on being mean"
-- amen. And "phoning it in"... he never came to the Herald. His column survives because there are plenty of stupid people in Boston. But the only stupider people than Carr's readers are Carr's competitors at the Globe.

Howie isn't boring. Neither is a train derailment. He is mean and his column in the Herald thrives on being mean. I think Imus perfected meanness on a national scale.

Imus is about to come back, though, so his scandal doesn't really hurt Howie.

In conservative radio, and also conservative and ''liberal'' TV talk, meanness is ubiquitous. The confrontational approach is selling now.

Howie is just cashing in while he can. He's just not known as ''guest''.

Your prose suggested Imus is a conservative host. That's pretty funny by itself. You also stated Imus's foul (LIBERAL) mouth would hurt Mr. Carr's chance to earn some bonus money. What a finely tuned sense of logic you have!

The next thing we'll hear from you is that Howie is "mean spirited" and boring. Thanks Emily!
