Boston Blotter: The Energizer Bunny of Domestic Offenders

--Yesterday the Blotter mentioned domestic assault by ice cream in a coffee mug. Now the DA's office has released word of a Revere woman who attacked her boyfriend with a dog leash and a hammer. She also attacked her boyfriend with the aforementioned items knowing full well that the police was watching her.

The office described a scene worthy of an episode of COPS when two police officers came upon Jacqueline Shannon and her boyfriend: "Shannon was pacing back and forth, swearing loudly, and screaming at the man, whose T-shirt was so torn and shredded that it hung loosely over his shoulders and only the collar remained around his neck."

Shannon proceeded to tire out the officers when she grabbed the hammer and tried to wrap the leash around the guys neck. The report said it took both officers to "restrain" her, and she still tried to kick her boyfriend in the nuts.

--Police have been incredibly responsive to the sexual assaults in East Boston. Last night, they had a meeting on the subject, and they've already taken a suspect into custody. The police haven't said if they have the perp for sure, but they did find a man meeting the attacker's description near where the women were assaulted.

--Follow up on the man who was shot and killed in front of a Dorchester convenience store on Tuesday night. The victim, 20-year-old Alan Peguero, was the son of the store owner. Peguero's father said his son had been involved in fights recently.

--Those guys from the now-infamous Northeastern Cheech & Chong pot bust are amateurs. State Police arrested three men who had 500 pounds of pot in their possession. Christopher M. Jackman, Michael D. Lowney, and Robert J. Kee were in the Snoop-Dogg league of pot possessors. Jackman and Lowney are also over 50 years old.

We were also wondering - 500 pounds of pot is a helluva lot. How much space would that take up? We found a story on a similar bust that went down in Nashville, Tennessee. Nashville police noted that the 500 pounds they seized filled a minivan. Of course, Jackman, Lowney, and Kee may have packed it differently, but you can imagine the size of their pot stash.

All charges alleged until proven under law. Image of the Energizer Bunny from Energizer's official website.
