Boston Blotter: 1-800-EAT-SHIT*
--Massholes Behind the Wheel: A driver was so appalled by another driver that he called the phone number on the side of the truck. (Apparently the phone number wasn't 1-800-EAT-SHIT.) Anyway, instead of reaching an operator or supervisor, the bad driver himself answered and was surprised that another driver would dare question his driving.
The BPD report notes that the truck driver argued with the other driver - with whom he was still sharing the road, mind you. Not only was the truck driver a Masshole driver, but he was also distracted by getting in a phone fight. When the two drivers stopped at a light, the truck driver took out a gun and "racked it" at the other driver. Police became involved and arrested the alleged Masshole.
--We just learned the official lingo for pimping! If you pimp, you get charged with "Support From a Prostitute's Earnings." And, when the BPD describes a proposition from a prostitute to a john, they write, "How about some crack and a sexual explicit." Or, "You want some sexual explicit." That's very tasteful.
--Craiglist ads with headlines such as "Special don't miss this one" from ladies named Lana make the BPD suspicious. Just so you know.
--An anonymous tipper earned high praise from Mayor Menino and Commish Davis for leading police to a rifle and a shotgun that were hidden near a school in Mattapan.
--A ruckus went down at an ABP in Harvard Square yesterday afternoon. It's always the Au Bon Pain, isn't it? Apparently a guy wasn't happy with his "Bon Pain" and started trashing the place. A commenter at Live Journal said the gentleman "had himself a nutty," which is the best expression for pitching a hissy fit that we've heard in a long time.
--A fugitive was on the loose yesterday in Mattapoisett. Police tried to serve Charles Chaples with a warrant for a parole violation. He was on parole for a second-degree murder conviction and obviously doesn’t want to go back to jail without a fight. Police were so concerned yesterday that they asked residents of Mattapoisett to stay in their homes and made reverse 911 calls, but they rounded up Chaples early this morning in Marion.
--In Brookline, a member of the town meeting is accused of keeping child porn in his home. Michael Selib's house had been condemned in June, and when a cleaning crew arrived to do some work on the place, they found the offensive items and contacted the law.
*It was not intentional to run a post with this headline after the story about the Holliston Girls' soccer team's peeing incident. It must be just one of those days.
All charges alleged until proven under law.
