Pats, Lies, and Videotape
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has decided that the Patriots violated league rules by videotaping the Jets' signals during Sunday's game. Pats coach Bill Belichick has apologized publicly.
Belichick's statement at the conference was a tad slippery:
Although it remains a league matter, I want to apologize to everyone who has been affected, most of all ownership, staff and players. Following the league's decision, I will have further comment.
Uh, Coach Belichick, you might want to apologize to the fans, too, who have discovered a nasty cheating streak in a much-beloved football team. Angela sums it up in the title of her post on the subject: "For the first time since 1991, it really sucks to be a Patriots fan." Barstool Sports isn't giving up the fight and is calling Roger Goodell a "power-hungry asshole."
Relations between the Pats and the Jets have always been weird, and Jets coach Eric Mangini and Belichick are frenemies. Mangini used to be on Belichick's staff, and Belichick gave Mangini such a forceful hug last year that he injured a guy in the process.

The worst thing about this whole thing is that Chad Pennington, Jets QB was hurt which could have resulted in a blitz due to cheating! He is probably out for two weeks,,, Thanks Belijerk!

Someone is defending Chad Pennington? Are you his butler? The Jets fans didn't sound terribly upset by his apparent injury.
There's rulebreaking in sports? I am shocked! Shocked! Belichick got caught and will lose one or two draft picks. We know.
Here's my bottom line...the Patriots are a better team now that they got caught ''cheating''. The team has thrived on believing everyone is against them and doesn't get respect. It might be true now.
The Pats are getting killed all over the media and you know Belichick is tucked away in the bunker at Gillette laughing and brewing some fresh Kool-Aid to use to motivate his club. I can hear Vrabel now...''You guys hate us and want to see us fail. We can only count on ourselves and play one game at a time. We're focused on (insert next opponent) and that's where we will make our statement.''
