--No, it's not what you think. David Chacon of Somerville took suckage seriously when he threw a vacuum cleaner at his roommate. The two got into a tiff, the victim went out, and, when he returned, Chacon had blocked the door. The victim busted inside, and that's when Chacon threw a knife, followed by the vacuum cleaner.
Chacon was also an alleged pain in the ass when police showed up. He resisted arrest, "deliberately hit his head" on the door of the police cruiser, and threatened to bit people when the police took him to the hospital. Police also noted the presence of "several open cans of beer" in Chacon's apartment. He has been charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon - Vacuum Cleaner.
--A man was stabbed while waiting for a friend early yesterday morning in Jamaica Plain. Five men wanted his money, and, when he didn't respond, they started fighting. The BPD never mentioned if the perps got the man's wallet or not. The victim's injuries are non-life-threatening.
--Via Universal Hub, the Dorchester Reporter spread word about what may be the least law-abiding house in Boston. Here's the story's lede: "Bats, knives, clubs and a pit bull were weapons in a fight between seven or more people on Morton Street last Tuesday, Aug. 28, according to a police report. One victim told police officers he was hit in the face with a hammer." And this didn't make the BPD blotter? Even odder, the residents of the home may be tied to a murder earlier this year, and the home is owned by the Shawmut Community Church of God, which rents it out to these individuals.
--In Rutland, investigators have found more evidence in the area where Lineida Olivera's body was found last week. This information may link her death to several others in the area. However, no one is saying what the evidence is.
--Cambridge city council candidates have not had a good week. The Cambridge Politics blog reports a weird incident at a local McD's in which the manager made "false accusations" toward Kathy Podgers, a candidate for Cambridge City Council. What could those "false accusations" have been? Did someone say those fries were supersized, but they weren't?
--Follow-Up: When Melissa Halstrom was taken into custody for running a prostitution ring made up entirely of teenage girls out of her home, it seemed that she acted alone. Now, news has emerged that she may have had help running her alleged house of ill repute.
According to the AP, Anthony Gorgoglione of Millbury is "charged with inducing a minor into prostitution, maintaining a house of prostitution, deriving support from prostitution and posing/exhibiting a child in a sexual act." That makes him an alleged garden-variety pimp. He has pled not guilty.
All charges alleged until proven under law. Vacuum cleaner image from Wikimedia Commons.
