Series of Tubes: Britney Edition

090907_the_tubes.jpgOkay, okay, this edition of "Series of Tubes" isn't all about Britney Spears, but local bloggers had plenty to say about her dopey performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.

--Karen is far more sympathetic to Britney's case because America can't resist a story of someone like Spears.

--Rude Boy finds similarities between Miz Spears and Family Guy. A debate then ensued as to whether or not it was appropriate to discuss Spears in the Boston Live Journal forum. Eh.

--No matter what, Moxie has Spears' song "Gimme More" stuck in her head. We feel her pain.

Now we move beyond Britney and into the world of sanity.

--Adam at Universal Hub was a brave soul and went to the new Natick "Collection," aka the Natick Mall with fancy stores. He sums up, "It's a tarted-up paean to American consumerism." Beantown Bloggery has pictures and warns that the traffic around the mall is terrible.

--Joel Brown is attempting the impossible - live-blogging the Emmy awards at meevee.com for his job while still keeping up with the Sox game.

--Not totally blog related, but the revamped website for the Herald is already showing a few cracks. The site looks wonderful, but hitting the back button in a browser will take the user back to the old Herald template and an error message. Sometimes, if the user follows the helpful breadcrumbs above an article, the old template and an error message appears as well.

The standard "Series of Tubes" image from allmusic. We didn't want to beat the dead horse that is Britney Spears and give you Britney Burnout.
