<description>&lt;p&gt;Sodium metal wouldn&apos;t make the water dirty, just a little salty!
It reacts with water to form NaOH, the same thing you get when you dissolve table salt in water. The byproduct of the reaction is hydrogen gas, which combusts in the air.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
