--Word is out that some boneheaded morons knocked over a 160-year-old bust of Jesus that is displayed at the Boston Public Library. It happened on September 12 in the afternoon, and the man and woman who did it got caught on videotape.
The pair didn't go after the bust of Lucifer. Apparently they were trying to make a point, but it was obscured in the sheer amount of dumbassery displayed by their behavior. It still doesn't catch up to the behavior of a certain Star Simpson from MIT.
--Two men were shot in Roxbury last night. One took a bullet in the head and is now in critical condition. The other was hit in the leg. Elsewhere, a man was stabbed on Glenarm Street.
--A Boston University student was sexually assaulted after leaving a party on the MIT campus. The incident happened early Sunday morning when she left and was attacked by "5 or 6 neatly dressed white males in their 20s" near Amherst and Kendall Square.
--In Randolph, a woman from Arizona, 21-year-old Deka Artan, stabbed a truck driver - while they were on the road. No word yet on how she wound up in his cab, but she fled the cab and ran into the woods. They found her with a 2-year-old child who has been placed with social services. The trucker is now in the hospital with "very serious" injuries.
--The BPD and the DA's office are still at each other's throats. The union of Boston Police Detectives passed a vote of no confidence in DA Dan Conley. Uh, three cheers for unity in the face of crime?
--Smile, Tufts! You're on the blotter! A student threw a full beer can at a Somerville police car and was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (beer can).
