Boston Blotter: Old School. No, Really Old School
--In the middle of a card game at an old folks' home in Jamaica Plain, someone let loose pepper spray, and three residents went to the hospital. That must have been a high-stakes game of pokeno! Police questioned one 66-year-old man, Robert Kane, because he had pepper spray in the past, but he denied it.
One resident referred to "troublemakers" in the home and suggested that some people in the home were beefing. Aren't they a little old for that sort of thing?
--Another sexual assault happened in East Boston, but this time, the victim escaped and had details on her attacker. She said he was "a Hispanic male, short black hair, medium build, wearing a diamond earring in his left ear, a black t-shirt with white and green lettering, jean shorts and carrying a black backpack with the letters RW."
Police acted quickly, found a guy on a bike matching that description who had the T-shirt in question stuffed into his backpack, and brought in the victim. She identified him as her attacker, and police arrested 18-year-old Carlos Alfredo Bonilla of East Boston. Police are now investigating if he was the same guy who committed the recent string of sexual assaults in East Boston.
--DA Dan Conley and police commissioner Ed Davis appear to be kissing and making up after Conley transferred responsibility for solving crimes on public transportation to the State Police. Sort of. They did a press conference for Project Safe Neighborhood. US Attorney Michael Sullivan still had to sit in between them.
All charges alleged until proven under law. Image of dogs playing poker from allposters.
