090907_the_tubes.jpg--Everyone's got an opinion about Governor Deval Patrick's casino plan. Dan Kennedy at Media Nation, who also cross-posts at Blue Mass Group, has been taking the anti-casino view and offers an interesting post about how the new revenue Patrick has been discussing is just "rearranged money."

--Britney Spears still will not go away. Onward Charles has discovered video trance remixes of that weird "Leave Britney Alone!" guy. Where does he she* find this stuff? It's riveting, in a horrifying sort of way.

--Leila at MenuPages wonders what's up with all the Sinatra Nights around here. And she has an answer.

--Mike Mennonno contemplates a study on how too much cell phone use can addle one's brain and realizes, "Somehow it's good to know that annoying behavior is actually bad for you."

--In the food department, Pam is getting the jump on fall by making pumpkin custard, which sounds a lot like pumpkin pie, only there's no crust to get between you and the pumpkin goodness.

--Maggie's got the monkey fever, and she is thrilled to discover monkey attire.

*Adam kindly let us know that we were taking the "Onward Charles" name far too literally and that the writer of the blog is a "she." Bostonist hadn't seen a picture, so the mixup was completely unintentional.
