Boston Blotter: Davis Vs. Conley Turf War - Still Very Much On

092407-anti-conley-flyer.jpg--Suffolk District Attorney Dan Conley and police commissioner Ed Davis were able to be in the same room this weekend despite their ongoing public spat. But someone has BPD detectives have been distributing flyers around Government Center denouncing Conley's actions.

The flyer pulls no punches and even likens Conley to a feudal lord: "Dan Conley is a politician who only wants to flex his political might over the serfs beneath him." Can everyone involved in this spat please sit down together, figure out what is best for the city, and solve some crimes? If they're wondering where they can get started, they should read the next blotter entry.

--More on the man who was killed with a shot to the head in Roxbury on Thursday night: Two assailants walked up to where 29-year-old Urel Duncan was sitting with friends at New Academy Estates, and they just started firing. According to the Globe, Duncan was able to say to his mother, "I don't know why they shot me." Family members are very clear that he wasn't in a gang and had a job as a security guard.

--A man was stabbed in the back and rear end while walking in an alley off Brunswick Street last night. Two East Boston men got busted early this morning while breaking into motor vehicles parked on Summer Street.

--A Cape Cod con artist ran up a sky-high bar tab by claiming that he was an Iraq War vet. Staff at Pufferbellies in Hyannis let Christopher Lee Proe, 23, write personal checks totaling $4,000 for booze - over five nights. That's a lot of booze. Pufferbellies is also a dance club, so Proe may have been buying for everyone in sight.

--Early Sunday morning, a crazy accident happened on Memorial Drive when a car crashed into several parked cars and went up in a ball of flame. Although the car and two parked cars got crispy, the passengers of the crashed car managed to escape.

All charges alleged until proven under law. A PDF of the anti-Conley flyer in question was sent to Bostonist earlier today.
