Over at Universal Hub, we spotted a post asking people to vote for Boston's Hottest News Woman. The poster admitted that voters would get a "slightly creeped-out feeling," and Bostonist prefers to think of its television news reporters as professionals, not as hot chicks.
However, Bostonians are really into their news reporters, particularly the female ones. Many visitors to this site are in search of a glimpse of Maria Stephanos of Fox 25 or Bianca De La Garza of WCVB. As a matter of fact, people seem scarily obsessed with Stephanos. So, if you really want to support Stephanos, De La Garza, or the broadcaster of your choice, you should go to andrewteman.org.
Interestingly, Teman left out De La Garza and Hazel Mae of NESN. We expect they will be strong write-in candidates. Last year, Sara Underwood of WBZ was the winner when the vote took place at irregahdless.com, which is Teman's "geographically specific alter ego."
In the interest of equal time, Bostonist would like to request a vote for hottest male broadcasters sometime in the future so we can spread the objectification out as equally as possible.

There's really no need for anyone to feel "creeped out". I appreciate a professional news anchor as much as anyone else, but as a red-blooded heterosexual male it's hard not to notice how extraordinarily attractive women like Bianca De La Garza, Shiba Russell, Dylan Dreyer, JC Monahan, Cindy Fitzgibbon, Liz Brunner, and Maria Stephanous are. These are some gorgeous, intelligent, very attractive women who are always exhibiting class and eloquence; of course some of us become mildly infatuated. But (speaking for me) that's all it is; an infatuation.
One time Bianca De La Garza was here in Plympton just down the street from me reporting on a car-crash. I didn't go rushing out to "ogle" her from my car. I'd love to meet her, but I'm sure I'd be like a big dork with his head down; hands in my pockets, blushing and kicking a stone.
I think that in general those of us who admire the newsgirls are pretty innocuous and maybe a little shy. We appreciate the relationships we have with these beauties as anonymous and innocent. Not to mention we respect the fact that most of them are married. David Wade is one fortunate husband!
