--Update: A little more on the death of Revere police officer Dan Talbot, who was shot behind Revere High. The DA's office just released a statement saying "Rumors of an arrest in connection with Officer Talbot's death are patently false."
--A woman died yesterday of injuries she sustained when someone broke into her Malden apartment. A neighbor found Zhen Q. Xie, 62, lying "just inside the doorway" of her first-floor residence on Friday afternoon.
The Malden Observer quoted Sergeant Mark Mullaney of the Malden PD saying that he didn't think it was random. Neighbors also told the paper that they saw a young Asian man running off.
--A man was shot yesterday in an apartment building on Neponset Avenue in Dorchester. He was 38 years old. His identity hasn't been released, but his injuries were life-threatening, and neighbors told the Herald that officers said it may have been drug-related.
--Early this morning, someone was stabbed on Ormond Street. The victim's injuries were non-life-threatening, and the victim was able to identify the suspect - a man in his fifties. While being booked, the suspect might have been taking advantage of his advanced age by saying he had chest pains, so he was able to put off a trip to the clink with a trip to the hospital.
--The following entry appeared happened Thursday morning and appeared a little late in the BPD Blotter, but it is oh-so-special. A guy in the South End ran "into the middle of the street and [smacked] the passenger side mirror on the police cruiser." Once he got their attention, he decided that he wanted to fight. After they asked him for his name, he raised his fists and hollered, "What's your name?" Officers arrested John Glennon, 29, of Boston, before he could say, "I know you are, but what am I?"
--The BPD Blotter describes a perp with an impressive level of self-awareness. After getting arrested on a gun charge, police heard Marcus Sullivan, 19, of Dorchester, say during his one phone call, "I just got arrested for a gun .. I was told to hold it and like an idiot I did.”
All charges alleged until proven under law.
