Party-Hopping: Baltimore, Birthday, Britpop, Baile

Bostonist Pick: Ballermore Has Arrived .::. Shake 'Em Down @ Milky Way (Thurs)
Bostonist has some good news for you: this is going to be an easy weekend on the liver. The bad news is that your two days of drinking, dancing and staying up into the wee New England-established hours begins tonight. There are two main events invading our city on the 4th, and first up is Shake 'Em Down, a dance party brought on by none other than Chris Devlin, our favorite new transplant. Coming from Baltimore and the Spank Rock legacy straight to our town, Mr. Rockswell joins forces with Hearthrob's Red Foxx and Paper's E-Marce to bring a monthly night of B-more, hip hop, free-form...let's not forget the pizza and candlepin bowling, eh? Featuring MC Spank Rock. 9pm. 21+ and free.

Old Friends, New Times .::. Dynasty (one night only) @ Great Scott (Thurs)
Now, as much as Bostonist loves to shake it, we have to give thanks to some of the folks in the community that have played an active role. In local superman Ben Sisto's case, he's played many active roles. As a writer for the Weekly Dig, photographer, graphic designer and established booking agent (whether he's working for Great Scott, Milky Way, Cloud City or the legacy of Honeypump), he's the kind of guy that knows everyone but still manages to be one of the most genuine people in this fine city. This night, Mr. Sisto turns 27 and to celebrate he's resurrected Dynasty, the dance night Honeypump featured with DJs Joseph & Andrew. Visuals will be provided by M@tt Boch, who's been blowing our minds at recent parties such as the last Thunderdome with Scottie B. Presented by Cloud City. 9pm. 18+ and $5.

Brit Pop Birthday Bash .::. The Pill @ Great Scott (Fri)
Now, by the time you get out of work on Friday, that nap is going to be much needed. Be sure to eat a good dinner before you decide your destination(s) for the evening. First up is a very special night in Allston - the 10th Anniversary of The Pill. Starting from a tiny club in North Station a decade ago, the love of Britpop and blasting it on a dancefloor has grown into one of the strongest dance parties in Boston that rages on with a cult following. Everyone goes at least once, but many return again and again. This Friday, The Pill welcomes former DJs Jen Sullivan and Sir Terence to the booth, joining DJ Ken and host Michael V. for six hours of Britpop, modern indie, 60s, new wave, electro-pop and beyond. For once, there is a dress code, and they ask you to please look sharp. Doors are at 8pm and it's safe to assume that the club will reach capacity. 21+ and $10.

Bostonist Pick: Can't Stop Won't Stop .::. Pan Am Fridays @ Enormous Room (Fri)
For years, the Enormous Room in Central Square was transformed into a mecca of dancehall reggae, baile, reggaeton, and bachata by friends and fellow DJs David Day & Baltimoroder. With the recent departure of DJD, Bostonist wasn't sure if Pan Am would go on, but Baltimoroder (nee Erik Pearson) is taking on the task of carrying the torch. He's also holding the word-of-mouth title as the best DJ in Boston, but you'll have to come and find out for yourself. Part of the Hearthrob crew, Boston's hometown heroes who spin at Middlesex every other Tuesday, Baltimoroder's style has exploded in the last few months to become his own, and his angles in ghettotech and chopping up tracks to make them grittier and texturize them in ways your ears have never heard have evolved into something great. With hopes of continuing Pan Am from hereon in, Baltimoroder will be spinning the night away at the Enormous Room as everyone enjoys their Geisha's Whispers and Quick Knockdowns. 9:30pm. 21+ and $5.
