--Beauty and the Geek: John, the MIT student Bostonist thinks is most likely to get some, received a "booty dance" from one of the beauties and admitted, "I didn’t know where to look." Romance was also on the minds of the other local contestants. Girl geek Nicole admitted that she had a crush on one of the boy geeks. Somerville LARPer Dave said of her revelation in his confessional, "I have to admit, my curiosity was piqued." Bostonist must give a shout-out to Dave--he makes perhaps the best faces ever seen on reality television.
Recently, John gave an interview to the MIT Tech. He has advice for anyone trying to get on the show and says that a degree (or upcoming degree) from MIT makes an aspiring contestant a shoo-in. Local beauty Jen Carter has also been hanging out with a boa constrictor named Coco Puff.
--Kid Nation: This show is growing all kinds of disturbing. During the episode, the kids threw a party, and one of the kids chugged a root beer. Yes, it was a root beer, but it felt funny to hear all these little kids shouting "Chug! Chug! Chug!" at a preteen girl. Regarding the locals, Guylan stood up to the pageant-winning council member, and Laurel remained one of the few sensible children on the show. She has a future career as a shrink.
--America's Next Top Model: All in all, a quiet week now that Mila is gone and Boston Babydoll Sarah is the only Massachusetts contestant remaining. Sarah showed some serious poise this week when another contestant nearly plowed into her as she strutted down the runway during a competition. Instead of shoving the diva off the runway, she just kept on going. The Boston Babydolls clearly teach charm, too.
--Survivor: The twiglike Courtney from Boston/New York overheard James and Jean-Robert gossiping about her in a very nasty way, strengthening her resolve to stay in the game. Alas, she had trouble cutting her way through ropes in the immunity challenge. She didn't get voted off, but she may be in trouble. Massachusetts lunch lady Denise, on the other hand, is not twiglike, and she was nowhere near the chopping block this week.
