Massachusetts Soldier Dies in Baghdad

Army Private First Class Kenneth J. Iwasinski, age 22, of Belchertown, was killed on Sunday in Baghdad.

Iwasinski, a member of the Second Infantry Division's Second Brigade Combat Team, was killed by an improvised explosive device (IED). It blew up near his Humvee.

His father told the Globe that Iwasinski was a gunner. The Republican said that he was also nominated for soldier of the month three times.
