No, they're not Styx, but they're still pretty awesome. British Sea Power are a British (imagine that!) band composed of characters with fanciful monikers like Yan, Noble, Hamilton, and Wood. A boy named Wood? It's too amazing not to love. In addition to calling each other amusing names, British Sea Power craft melodic guitar rock with earnest vocals that glide over perfectly performed riffs. It's like the perfect boat ride: gloriously smooth with no icebergs in sight. British Sea Power are touring in support of their new EP "Krankenhaus?" which has some songs that will also appear on the band's upcoming album Do You Like Rock Music?, set for release in January 2008. Openers Stardeath & White Dwarfs will take you on an astronaut's adventure of starry, wigged-out sounds, while Taxpayer will keep it close to home with emotive, dramatic rock. Board the British Sea Power express at the Middle East tonight for a nautical noise experience like none you've never had before.
