Boston Blotter: BPD, Fans Tolerate Each Other During Red Sox Victory, Kind Of

The Globe headline read "Fans Erupt in Joy After Sox Comeback." The subhead read, "Police Arrest 12 After Victory." The Herald said that the arrest number was actually 26, and they came away from the scene with a few stories of aggressive police and skittish horses.

It would appear that fans and police were able to coexist somewhat, although Bostonist has no idea why the BPD wouldn't let them take a few harmless pictures of the good clean revelry (between 12 and 26 disorderlies excluded). The BPD Blotter has some of the bigger incidents, including a guy from Malden trying to take on Cask-n-Flagon employees and three guys (two from Rhode Island) refusing to get out of the middle of Commonwealth Avenue. YouTube user toxik53 added ample video of the festivities, including the following clip:

All charges alleged until proven under law. YouTube video from user toxik53. More on crime among teens in Boston after the jump.

--A man is in critical condition following a shooting this morning on Harvard Street in Dorchester. The BPD is looking for "a black male dressed in black pants, a black dress shirt and wearing a memorial button on his shirt."

--Peter Schworm at the Globe has some alarming stats regarding teens and crime in Boston. Here's a few glimpses into the stats: More than 40% of male teens say they have carried a knife. "More than one-third of male and female students reported having hit, punched, kicked, or choked someone in the past month." And, "More than one-quarter of students said they would not report a crime for fear of reprisal or being labeled a snitch."
