Stuck Between Stations: Carr Begs to Work for WTKK
Talking head and Herald writer Howie Carr, still trying to ditch WRKO and join WTKK, is appealing a judge's decision that states WRKO had the right to match WTKK's lucrative offer.
Jessica Heslam reports that Carr and his lawyers have asked an appeals court justice if he can work for "the broadcaster of his choice" until the whole case has been settled. Clearly the broadcaster of his choice is not WRKO, who told Carr how they felt with "Virtual Howie."
WRKO is clearly having a lot of fun messing with Carr, and the judge who ruled that WRKO had the right to match isn't having any sympathy for him. But how long can this legal tangle last? WTKK had an office already set up for Carr, but WRKO and WTKK must fill holes in their schedules, and right now Carr isn't doing anything for them. The fact that the wretched Don Imus is coming back on the airwaves must have put Carr on notice that his time his running out.
