The UK-based Modular Records is fast becoming one of Britain's most important electronic music exports on a global level. Now, Klaxons are one of the biggest indie bands to carry the dance party torch, uniting it with the rock venue atmosphere and audience. Stepping up is labelmate Muscles, an Aussie native who is best known for the lyric "Ice cream is gonna save the day." With album Guns Babes Lemonade hitting the states today, Muscles will be performing at Hearthrob - the dance party of Boston that happens (in Cambridge, actually) every other Tuesday. Known for its lines to wrap all the way around the Miracle Of Science, the Middlesex Lounge transforms into a flood of color, lights, alcohol, and energy that isn't matched anywhere else in the city.
Alongside Klaxons and New Young Pony Club, Muscles fits perfectly into the Modular, Hearthrob and general dance party explosion. Kind of like !!!, there's a performance element that's necessary; having songs that are addictive (see "Sweaty") certainly don't hurt. Also spinning is Jokers Of The Scene, a DJ duo from Canada who are frequently loved by techno tastemakers Discobelle. L'est we forget the Hearthrob crew, which is inarguably the best trio of bangers in Boston, bringing elements to the party that create a workweek dancenight for which the word followers would be most appropriate. Don't miss this, and come early.

just don't confuse muscles with MVSCLZ!
