Boston Blotter: Gunman Doesn't Even Pause for a Funeral
--The man shot yesterday on Harvard Street in Dorchester was leaving a funeral when he was hit. The man, 17, is in critical condition. According to the Globe, the funeral was for Charles Bunch, who died on October 14, possibly as a result of gang activity.
Michele McPhee's sources ID'd the victim as David Johnson. She also noted that Johnson and the person who shot him were both wearing memorial buttons for Charles Bunch.
--On the blotter, a woman found a sweaty 56-year-old man rummaging through her Roxbury home early this morning. The victim let him in because she thought she recognized him, but then he started looking for drugs and breaking stuff. Police arrived and arrested Kenneth Woolley on Breaking & Entering.
--A Randolph police officer has been relieved of his duties because he was stealing from Brazilian immigrants. The Globe reports that Fabiano Estrela was taking advantage of the immigrants at traffic stops. He was once a "liaison to the immigrant community."
--A BU college blotter entry proved so unfortunate that it rose right to the top of the blotter. An unlucky young woman threw up and wound up crying in her own vomit in Allston. Police arrested the host and DJ for keeping a disorderly house. Also on the BU blotter, the dirtiest, nastiest house in town.
--UMass-Boston's blotter is on the rise thanks to its sense of self-satire. A sample: "Four cars were involved in an accident in the north lot causing property damage to all four vehicles. Seriously, how do you cars get into an accident in a parking lot? Oh, that's right, the drivers go to UMass Boston."
All charges alleged until proven under law.
