Boston Blotter: Honda Civic Hot Rods

102507-2-fast-2-furious.jpg--Six drag racers got busted for sneaky-driving on Washington Street in Roslindale early Sunday morning. Jessica M. Smith of the Roslindale Transcript reports that the racers set up lookouts. Five Honda Civics were towed as well. Did Honda Civics strike you as worthy of 2 Fast 2 Furious?

--Mayor Menino and Commish Ed Davis have announced that they want colleges to crack down on students who act up during the World Series. Menino said that he wasn't impressed with Judge Edward "Dredd" Redd's decision to give seven student hellraisers an essay assignment.

--Speaking of Sox shenanigans, the BPD arrested four individuals for scalping. Two of them were selling fake tickets. And they were from the Bronx. Take your fake tickets back down to Yankee-land!

--A teenager is in trouble for jamming BPD communications. Paul Lydon, 17, of Jamaica Plain, was arrested last night, according to the Herald. Not only did he jam the airwaves, but he may have spoken over the lines.

While annoying to the BPD, Lydon should be commended for going retro. While all the other cool kids are hacking, Lydon is keeping it old school. His dad told WCVB that he's innocent: "He gets on the scanner and he listens to the police and what's going on in his neighborhood. He's involved with the neighborhood watch because there's a lot of B&E's on his street."

All charges alleged until proven under law. Image from Amazon.
