Mittwatch: Romney Not Sufficiently Convinced by Utter Inevitability of Sox Victory
Mitt Romney, who is in the news sometimes, turned down a wager from fellow presidential hopeful Tom Tancredo. The stakes? If the Sox prevail in the World Series, the Colorado Congressman would drop out of the race, and Romney would do likewise in the completely unthinkable event of a Rockies victory.
To be fair to Romney, who has spent $17 million of his own money -- not to mention his invaluable integrity -- on the campaign, Mormons aren't really supposed to make bets. Even on the Red Sox.
In other news, Romney has taken Rudy Giuliani to task regarding the former New York mayor and avowed Yankee fan's support for the Sox in the Series. Considering recent revelations that the Romneys are part owners of the Yankees' YES Network, we at Bostonist don't think that's quite sporting of him.

I own "an undisclosed amount" of stock in the N.Y. Times Co. Does that mean I can get a seat for tonight? Of course not. Calling him a "part-owner of the Yankees" is like calling every guy with a mutual fund at Fidelity a "war monger". Talk about a non-story.
