Boston Blotter: Man Found Dead on Westville Street

033107_body_outline.jpg--Someone found a man in his 20s who had been killed by a gunshot wound to the head this morning on Westville Street. The Herald is reporting that the man was a relative of Andre Stoner, who was killed on October 17. Whoever killed Stoner's relative left him for dead in the John Marshall Elementary School parking lot.

--Speaking of Andre Stoner and his family, Jessica Fargen of the Herald reports that the family has returned the car in which Stoner died to the scene of the crime, Esmond Street and Blue Hill Avenue. His brother-in-law wrote the BPD crimestoppers phone number on the car's windshield. The number is 1-800-494-TIPS (8477).

--An 18-year-old man was hit in the thigh in a drive-by shooting last night on Rindge Avenue in North Cambridge. Erin Smith at the Cambridge Chronicle reports that police were looking for "a white car--possibly a Ford or Jeep--with three to four young black males inside."

--The head of a ham radio group is feeling no sympathy for Paul Lydon, the 17-year-old who allegedly messed with BPD radio transmission. Allen Pitts of the American Radio Relay League said to the Globe, "The idea that a ham radio operator, however new, would intentionally cause problems in an emergency call is anathema to hams." William Shatner couldn't be reached for comment.

--The BU Free Press is speaking out because the BUPD refuses to release its report relating to the officer who struck a student after allegedly making an illegal turn on Tuesday night. Reporter Jenna Nierstedt got a BPD report but has been stonewalled thusfar by the BUPD. There's debate about whether or not the victim, Yeon Lee, was watching out for traffic and whether or not the BUPD car saw her, but how will anyone know if all the information isn't available? The BU Free Press Staff has printed an editorial addressing the problem.

All charges alleged until proven under law.
