Red Sox Celebration Parade @ Noon Tuesday

Be prepared to take a long lunch break tomorrow. Mayor Menino has announced that Red Sox celebration festivities will begin tomorrow at noon.

Bostonist watched the WBZ webcast of Mayor Menino giving the details. The players will be riding in duck boats in a repeat of 2004's "rolling rally." Menino said that the parade will follow the same route as it did in 2004. Here's an image of last year's route from the Globe.

However, the mayor said the parade wouldn't go into the Charles River because "the players didn't want to go into the water." Maybe Manny Ramirez wanted to keep his hair nice. He also said three jumbotrons will be at Boston Common, Copley Square, and City Hall Plaza.

The Dropkick Murphys (whom Mayor Menino called "Dropkick Murphy") will be performing on a flatbed truck, and Papelbon will jig at "several different locations."

If you want to see the Red Sox today, they will be getting back to Logan Airport at 3:30 and heading back to Fenway.
