Bostonist missed a few matters in the midst of Red Sox Mania, such as the fate of radio personality and Herald writer Howie Carr. Carr went to a state appeals court judge in an attempt to overturn a ruling stating that his old employer, WRKO, had the right to match an offer made to him by WTKK. Carr's contract shenanigans left him stuck between stations and without a radio gig.
And that's not going to change anytime soon. The appeals court judge backed the original decision on Tuesday and said Carr couldn't work for WTKK until the whole mess gets cleared up. Appeals court judge Andrew Grainger won't even let Carr take his case to a full panel of judges. WRKO and Carr clearly hate each other's guts (see "Virtual Howie" for proof of that), but the divorce isn't final.
Laurel Sweet at the Herald writes, "In other words, there’s no telling when Carr will return to the airwaves." Many of you might not care since Carr was once voted one of the Most Hated Bostonians, but, for those of you who crave a Carr fix, you'll have to settle for reading his Herald columns.
Image of WRKO's hand still firmly shoved up puppet Howie's lower end from WRKO.
