Boston Blotter: Shooting at Stalex Pizza
--It seemed as if the World Series put a cork in local gun incidents or the media (Bostonist included) was too busy with the Sox to notice. Now the cork is out of the bottle. The 45-year-old owner of Stalex Pizza in Dorchester was shot in the head this morning when he tried to go after an 18-year-old who robbed his shop. The man is in critical condition.
The BPD announced that officers moved fast and arrested 18-year-old Gary Johnson. Johnson, of Dorchester, allegedly stole $60.00 from the establishment.
--In Boston last night, a man was shot on Hendry Street in Dorchester, and two people were shot while driving their car down Washington Street in Dorchester. Elsewhere, two men were shot to death in Worcester last night. In a separate incident in Worcester, another man was shot in the face and is now in critical condition.
--Hey, look! Something positive! Winning the World Series soothes all wounds--including the one between Police Commish Ed Davis and Suffolk County DA Dan Conley. The two have finally figured out that their power skirmish was making them look petulant, so they are "talking on the phone and meeting occasionally over coffee." Next up, the two will appear holding hands on the cover of the paper, telling everyone they decided not to sign the divorce papers after all.
All charges alleged until proven under law.
