Boston Blotter: Rough Time for Cabbies
--A cabbie got shot by an armed robber early yesterday morning in Roxbury. O'Ryan Johnson writes that the cabbie was changing a tire when the robber accosted him. After the cabbie handed everything over, the robber shot him and wounded him in the leg and buttocks. Elsewhere, early this morning, a man was shot several times in Roslindale and is now in the hospital.
--More problems for cabbies: A BU student gave a cabbie a hard time on Friday night. The cabbie picked up 21-year-old Brendan Collins, of Allston. Collins passed out in the cabbie's car. When the cabbie reached Collins' destination, he was kind enough to try to wake him instead of dumping his ass out on the street. Collins responded in the following manner: "The suspect became very violent when he tried to wake him up, kicked him in the face, and then proceeded to punch the victim in the face."
--Several people were robbed last night in the South End by a man who was impersonating a police detective. He came up and claimed he could arrest them for drinking in public and took their wallets. Here's a description of the suspect: "A white male in his 30’s with short light brown hair; light facial hair in the shape of a 'chinstrap' style beard; wearing a brown three quarter length leather jacket with a white fur collar; gray t-shirt and baggy dark blue jeans."
All charges alleged until proven under law. Taxi DVD cover from Amazon.
