Auditions are being held for a new season of The Next Food Network Star. Last time, the show plucked Tommy Grella from Methuen out of a lineup because of his oversized personality, body type, proportions, and ever-present stogie. Unfortunately, homesickness got the better of him, and he left early.
You don't have to be a master chef to succeed on this show. Remember, the Food Network made a star out of Rachael Ray. The producers are looking for someone relatively hip who can relate to the audience and teach them a few things about cooking.
E-mail the following to nextfoodnetworkstar4@gmail.com: Name, age, phone number, e-mail address, a brief summary of why you want to be on the show, occupation, and a picture of yourself.
The third season of The Next Food Network Star should be an exciting one. Last season, one of the finalists, "JAG," bailed before the last episode because he lied about his military past. The producers didn't want things to end on a whimper by letting Rory, a woman from Texas and New Jersey who occasionally had problems cooking, win by default. So they brought back the third-place finisher, Amy, who managed to win it all.
For the Food Network, that was high drama. While The Next Food Network Star doesn't bring all the gourmet power of a Top Chef, it makes for juicy reality-show viewing.
