While "Tales of exploration, experimentation, and questioning" might conjure up images of coming out stories, tonight's installment of the Four Stories reading series isn't specifically tailored to that topic. It's just a bunch of curious tales, designed to step off the beaten (written?) path and spark some interesting ideas. These unusual excerpts will be read by a group of distinguished writers including Steve Almond, Pushcart Prize winner and Not That You Asked author; Lisa Genova, neuroscience Ph.D. and author of books on dementia and other mental conditions (including Still Alice, pictured at right); Ken Shulman, frequent NYT and NPR contributor; and Grace Talusan, Grub Street and Tufts University writing teacher. Almond will be performing double duty as the "hottie" DJ in addition to reading his work. If nothing else, go to see what he'll spin--but we look forward to hearing neuroscientific and writing-based takes on the curious among us.
