Oddblotter: Flashing? In This Weather?

110507-flasher-costume.jpg--Early this morning, a woman was arrested "exposing her buttocks" while walking on Commercial Street. Ashley Thrasher, 21, of Foxborough, "caused a disturbance and annoyance to several pedestrians lawfully present in the area." The BPD News Blotter writer just couldn't let the opportunity to name the post "Thrasher's a Flasher" pass by.

--The BPD News Blotter writer has also unveiled a new technique--the use of quotations for slang and sarcasm. For example, Jacinto Abdalah, 38, of Quincy, was arrested after explaining to police that he was "rolling a joint," which indicates to Blotter-readers that Abdalah was speaking in the parlance of our times. He was arrested, and while that seems harsh for public joint-rolling, it turns out that Abdalah had a few outstanding warrants. The other use of quotation marks involved 18-year-old Paul Riyad, who had been spotted toting a telltale red cup in public. He said he was "Just Carrying" the aforementioned cup and was arrested.

A side note: Why haven't students figured out that a red cup is a dead giveaway for illicit booze? That's Cause-and-Effect 101.
