Boston Ties to Top Ten Mustaches

Movember madness continues with Bostonist taking great leaps to link the Top Ten Mustaches of all time with our own fine city. Bet you never knew we had so many mustache connections, even beyond Wade Boggs.

reynun.gif1. Burt Reynolds

Mr. Reynolds has apparently played a Boston policeman in not just one but two ridiculous movies you've never heard of. Score two for the force!

2. Tom Selleck

Tom Selleck went out on a limb to play Tom Boston in The Chinese Typewriter, and has also starred in several episodes of Boston Legal.

3. Groucho Marx

Marx wrote of Boston Common, "The Minute Men are all dead, but most everything else is still the same."

4. Salvador Dali

Boston has a Dali restaurant, and the MBTA goes surrealist.

geraldo.jpg5. Geraldo Rivera

Rivera, who spends many of his summers in Marion, MA, made waves criticizing Michelle Malkin in the Boston Globe.

6. Hulk Hogan

Hulk has no discernible Boston connections, but could still kick your ass.

7. Albert Einstein

Einstein played a role in founding Brandeis University (not in Boston, but close... ish...).

8. Sonny Bono

We got nothing. But we also got you, babe.

9. Frank Zappa

Frank and The Mothers of Invention recorded The Ark here in Boston in July 1968.

10. Gene Shalit

Shalit has performed with the BSO.

There you have it: Boston's got a lot of mustache connections. Could you be the city's next famous mustache? You'll never know unless you try.
