Boston's Not-So-Finest
Remember the crooked BPD cops who finally got snared by the FBI when they offered to protect a shipment of cocaine? It was clear they weren't nice guys, but one of them is so crooked and so flagrant about it that it's like he came straight out of a clichéd cop television show. And not a good cop show, either.
The Herald had a field day once its writers got their mitts on taped phone calls from Roberto Pulido. Pulido was--ahem--offered an Asian hooker. He didn't like her and said, "Men don’t pay for (expletive deleted).” He also said of his wife at one point: "My wife’s been acting like a (expletive deleted), so I don’t even want to look at her face.”
And check out that Herald cover for today. The cover was so lurid that people passing by the newsstand stopped and paused for another looksie. Bostonist thought the garter was a nice touch, but are garters worn on the calf?
Anyway. While the Herald focused on the seamier stuff, the Globe was classier about it. They described Pulido's words as "phone conversations that he salted liberally with profanity and street slang."
Pulido fancied himself some real hot stuff. Now, he's knuckled under and pled guilty to drug charges. And the testimony in his trial has, the Herald reports, implicated "unindicted officers allegedly involved in illicit drug use, identity fraud and wild sex romps."
Today's cover of the Herald. All charges alleged until proven under law.

We already knew the Herald loves a story with legs and deleted expletives.
But, they almost buried the lead story of the day...MANNY SELLING HIS RIDE! God knows what he'll leave in that car. A 2004 ring perhaps?

"Men don’t pay for (expletive deleted).” Where you're going, sir, no, they don't. Karma is a bitch, (so to speak).
