Yesterday while perusing a few Globe articles on Boston.com, this Bostonist's eyes started to go a little loopy. It seemed as if ants were crawling across the Boston.com web page.
Bostonist quickly noticed that the dotted lines separating the elements on Boston.com's recently redesigned webpages create the illusion that the lines are moving, especially when they are stacked one on top of the other as seen above. In general, the Boston.com redesign is an improvement, and the updated layout makes the pages easy to read, but the dotted-line overkill is a setback to the improvements.
After a while, the dotted lines go all Brownian motion on you. Is this a silly complaint, or does Boston.com need to dial back this dotted line thing a little?

Silly complaint.
um... in the silly complaint department (because as a web developer, I see this WAY too often).
Your screenshot should NOT be a jpg. 90% of the time, it's gif for graphics, jpg for photos. png would be even nicer but most of the world is still filled with idiots that use Internet Explorer.
