Boston Blotter: More on Allston Roof Fall

033107_body_outline.jpg--The man who fell off a roof and died at an Allston party Friday night has been identified as 21-year-old student Shawn Dow. Dow attended the Art Institute of Boston.

Although a brawl erupted at the party, BPD reports indicate that Dow wasn't involved and accidentally fell off the roof. However, according to the Globe, "Some of Dow's friends and classmates who attended the party disputed the police account, saying a beating in the brawl left him unconscious and bleeding. They said no one went to the roof."

--A Lowell man has been arrested for biting off the lip off a baby boy yesterday. Thy Chan, 26, was "acting erratically" when police and medical personnel arrived, according to the Lowell Sun. Medics found the detached lip, and the boy is now at Children's Hospital.

Although not all outlets confirmed this, WCVB reported that the little boy was Chan's own son.

--The BPD Blotter writer has a word of advice, "When you see the lights and sirens … it's best to stop." Curtis Howell, 27, of Dorchester, didn't get the memo when he was driving through the South End with an expired inspection sticker and tried to elude BPD.
