No matter how old we get, the more we get a kick out of the immature, downright gleeful sensation of zinging another city's team.
Case in point: Toronto on Tuesday night. The Maple Leafs hosted Boston, who in turn officially introduced the NHL to Tuukka Rask. Rask, a mere cub at 20 years of age, then made 30 saves and led the Bruins to a 4-2 victory over the Leafs.
The zinger? Bruins fans know that Rask was drafted by Toronto back in 2006, but was traded a year later. Their draftee beat their team by putting in a top-notch performance for our team during what turned out to be his first NHL performance and win.
That's what you get, Toronto, for calling a guy at 2 a.m., while he's doing God knows what during one of Finland's biggest parties of the year, to tell him he's traded.
Zing!
Boston's goals were provided courtesy of P.J. Axelsson, Phil Kessel, and Chuck Kobasew (two goals on the night).
-- The Celtics, now lifted of that "need to win every single basketball game of the season" thing, attempt to bounce back from their (one) loss Sunday when they host the Warriors tonight at the TD Banknorth Garden.
-- Mike Lowell is happy to be officially reunited with Boston. Boston is happy to officially celebrate Mike Lowell's return. Agents and GMs are making bad jokes during press conferences. All is right with the world.
-- We're simply going to point out that Mike Bradford's lede to a recent Boston Herald story makes Bostonist scared about making the trip to Foxboro on Sunday, and we're just going to be watching the thing. Bradford writes that the Patriots "crush their spirits, cut out their hearts and leave their lifeless bodies sprawled across the football field like litter."
It's cool, Eagles - we wouldn't want to show up either. You guys just focus on eating your turkey tomorrow and taking it one day at a time.

Sports Redux: One Goal, And One Goal Only

Imagine how good Tuukka will be when he actually has to shave? Has Bostonist seen his face? It looks like the party his trade interrupted was the prom.
