Mr. Butch: Remembered Fondly on ABC?
Too stuffed with turkey to do much else on Thursday night, we took in an ample amount of ABC's Thursday night television: "Ugly Betty," "Grey's Anatomy," and a "sneak preview" (read: kind of sort of why don't they just call it the season premiere?) of season two of "October Road."
The last in the lineup has been oft-maligned since it made its series debut last year, and EW.com recently pondered whether it deserved a second chance. Bostonist has kept an open mind - we've been keeping our fingers crossed for co-creator Needham native Scott Rosenberg ("Beautiful Girls"). Besides, the fictitious Knights Ridge is located right here in Massachusetts.
So our ears perked up when we detected a possible shout-out to the former King of Kenmore Square.
Two of the characters (Nick and Eddie, for anyone who does watch) traveled from "the Ridge" to New York to track down another hometown man. Conversation with one of Nick's New York friends reveals that said friend has taken up the saxophone.
Why? A known homeless man, Mr. Butch, told her that the only thing missing from her life was a horn.
Coincidence? Maybe, but we like to believe otherwise.
