Boston Blotter: More on Teen Shooting Victim, ABP Hold-Up

police_tape.jpg--The Mattapan teenager who was shot in the jaw yesterday has not been named but was a student and basketball player at Charlestown High. Also yesterday, a man was stabbed last night on Cambridge Street, and he is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

--An armed robbery happened at the Au Bon Pain at Harvard Square the night of November 19. Matt Dunning Erin Smith at the Cambridge Chronicle reports that three masked robbers "tied up one worker and held the manager at knifepoint."

The manager was able to escape without having to open the safe, and the robbers took off without anyone getting hurt.

--The investigation into the BPD's shooting of corrections officer Marquis Barker, who stole a police cruiser and displayed what turned out to be a pellet gun, continues. Police shot and killed him because his pellet gun may have been real. The Boston Herald has the 911 tapes of Barker's wife calling the police. She told the dispatcher that he had a pellet gun, but when the police arrived and requested confirmation, she said, "I think it's a pellet gun."

--The body that was found in Charlestown Harbor over the weekend has been identified as 30-year-old John Kistler of Charlestown. According to the Herald, he had been reported missing earlier in the month.

--Most robberies are small-scale stuff regarding TV sets, laptops, or wallets. But we hear via Universal Hub that a thief swiped $20,000 worth of jewelry from a Brookline home on Walnut Street over Thanksgiving. The thief or thieves went straight to a jewelry box and took "20 pairs of earrings, 4 diamond rings, and numerous bracelets" along with a laptop. The message? Do not put all of your bling in one place.

All charges alleged until proven under law.
