The BPD Sees Famous People

082007_BostonPD.jpgThere's more perks to being a BPD officer besides police details. The Globe did a feature on Michael O'Connor, the police officer who must handle traffic and keep an eye on stars who are filming movies in Boston. The gist of the story is that O'Connor has been busier lately with The Lonely Maiden starring Morgan Freeman, William H. Macy, and Christopher Walken. O'Connor is also keeping an eye on Real Men Cry with Ethan Hawke, which is shooting in South Boston.

O'Connor told Maria Cramer that William H. Macy from The Lonely Maiden was "very unassuming." Of course he is. O'Connor isn't going to say Macy is Hollywood Hellion. We'd be surprised if O'Connor had to chase a naked, coke-added Macy or his costar, the stately Freeman, all over Boston. But we daydream about O'Connor having to settle down an unruly Christopher Walken. (We did hear that a sweatpant-clad Walken was at the Liberty Hotel.)

The article indicates that O'Connor has spent more time calming the hissy fits of director's assistants and city officials, who are still getting used to each other. Apaprently, it's tough for Hollywood to remember that people actually live here, and it's not as easy to drive around here as it is in LA.
