Former Massachusetts governor and presidential aspirant Mitt Romney attended the Republican CNN/YouTube debate last night, even though he admitted he was concerned about taking questions from a snowman complaining about global warming.

CNN teased him a little bit in the beginning by showing a brief highlight reel with the snowman, but then they disappointed by saying that only "serious" questions would appear. And then CNN showed questions from a dude performing a singsongy tune on an acoustic guitar and another guy eating "cheap corn subsidized by the American taxpayer" off the cob. A snowman would have been more interesting.

The highlight was Romney's battle with former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani. They got into it over sanctuary cities for illegal immigrants. Giuliani claimed Romney allowed six sanctuary cities in the state of Massachusetts, and then he delivered a bitchslap: "There was even a sanctuary mansion. At his own home, illegal immigrants were being employed."

The catfight promptly erupted as Romney took umbrage. Giuliani didn't bend, saying Romney had a "holier-than-thou" attitude and that Romney had a "special immigration problem that no one else up here has."

Romney got a little revenge at the end when a YouTuber asked Giuliani why he supported the Red Sox in the World Series. Giuliani claimed that he always supported the AL, no matter which team made it to the World Series, but it didn't wash.

Bostonist checked Wonkette's liveblog, and thanks to his condescending statements towards two African Americans asking about black-on-black crime and a gay serviceman asking for some basic respect, they said, "Mitt Romney, at this hour, is the worst candidate running for president."
