826 Boston, the center for writing that recently opened in Egleston Square, knows how to have a good time. The center serves two purposes: it provides writing tutoring for local students and it offers the latest information about cryptozoology through The Greater Boston Bigfoot Research Institute. For more on the Research Institute, read Bostonist's interview with 826 Boston's executive director, Daniel Johnson.
Since the center just opened, the 826 Boston team is celebrating with a party this Saturday. Several performers will be on hand for the five-hour housewarming, including poet Charles Coe. Students will also read their work, and Teen Empowerment, Spontaneous Celebrations, and OriginNation will perform.
Throughout the day, you will be able to sign up as a tutor for 826 Boston. The tutoring will start on January 7.
No word yet on whether or not Nessie or Bigfoot will show up. They are a little camera-shy.
