A man
has taken took people at the headquarters for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign hostage in Rochester, New Hampshire, and he wants wanted to speak to Hillary Clinton. [WBZ, MSNBC]
Clinton is was not in New Hampshire. Here is the latest from the thread, with earlier information after the jump:
6:15 pm: IT IS OVER. A young man just ran out of the campaign office. The man who took the hostages followed him. He pulled off his sweater, revealing someting duct-taped to his waist. He wore a necktie, and he took the object that may or may not have been a bomb off. He walked toward the police with arms up. Tucker Carlson says he "looks like a librarian." [MSNBC, on air]
5:10: "At a news conference, police refused to release any details on the number of hostages, whether any hostages remained, the identity of the hostages or the identity of the hostage-taker. Police said there have been no injuries but described it as a 'fluid situation.'" [WMUR]
Police didn't release the name in the press conference, but MSNBC's Pete Williams said his name is Leeland Eisenberg. If this is so, a Leeland Eisenberg was arrested in Rochester for drunken driving in June of this year, which might support the information that he was drinking.
4:35: More information on the hostage-taker: "A friend of the family said that the man thought that there was a government conspiracy and that government officials were 'coming after him.'" [WMUR]
4:10: The son of the man who held the hostages told WBZ radio that his dad had been drinking for 2 days straight and has strapped road flares to his body. [WBZ, but Bostonist heard this on the air, and it isn't yet on the site. A live feed is available on WBZ's site.]
3:45: Update to the number of hostages: Four hostages were taken total, and three have been released. The man still has one hostage. This comes from MSNBC's live coverage with backup from the AP.
We'll be adding to the thread as information appears. More from the thread after the jump.

3:40: Two hostages, along with the woman released at 3:10, have been released. It isn't clear who remains. The man is an "older male who was well-known locally and has a history of mental illnesses who told his son today to 'watch the news.'" [WMUR]
3:20: "SWAT teams have sent a cell phone into the campaign office to presumably communicate with the suspect." [Boston Herald]
3:10: One woman has been released from the building. One hostage remains in the building. [WBZ]
2:50: When the news was announced at the DNC winter meeting in Virginia, "this news broke just as Hillary Clinton was to deliver her speech. Understandably, she canceled her speech." [Daily Kos]
Fox 25 has sent out SkyFox and is broadcasting live. They say the FBI is going to New Hampshire.
WBZ has a statement from the Clinton campaign: "There is an ongoing situation in our Rochester, NH office," the statement said. "We are in close contact with state and local authorities and are acting at their direction. We will release additional details as appropriate." [WBZ]
2:35: "Witnesses described the man as in his 40s with salt-and-pepper hair. There are several police officers positioned across the street from the office, crouched down behind cruisers with guns drawn, according to a reported at the scene." [WCVB]
2:20 pm: WMUR of New Hampshire has the most information. Here's information from one witness:
"A young woman with a 6-month or 8-month-old infant came rushing into the store just in tears, and she said, 'You need to call 911. A man has just walked into the Clinton office, opened his coat and showed us a bomb strapped to his chest with duct tape,'" witness Lettie Tzizik said.
MSNBC just announced that the man has demanded to speak with Hillary Clinton.
2:05 pm: CNN is reporting that the man allegedly had an "explosive device on his person." We're adding a Google map of Rochester. Barack Obama's office has been evacuated as well.
2:00 pm: A bomb threat was also called in before reports came in that there were hostages. [WHDH, video on the homepage]
1:55 pm: CNN Headline News is covering it. Very little information is available, but they are saying that the hostage is an "armed man." Police are there, roads are blocked off, and CNN has heard that 2 people are being held.
