Art Opening Tonight

Friday, November 30th
MIT Stata Center Balcony Gallery
32 Vassar Street, 3rd Floor
Cambridge, MA
6p - 9p / FREE / All Ages

COLLISIONcollective is a group of artists from MIT and the surrounding Boston area that explore new technologies through the filters of art. Founded in 2002, their intentions have been to showcase art that incorporates technology, but has since expanded into some of the most innovative and intentionally-tangible ideas of merging these two worlds. The major events, called Collisions, bring together people of all ages engaging with interactive robotic art, exploring laser lighted spaces, shaking their heads at LED sculptures, listening and dancing to live electronic music and generally having a good time while being introduced to the future of art. Though most members of COLLISIONcollective can be found in MIT basements, their work is scattered across museums from Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and overseas.

COLLISIONtwelve (C12) will be on display from December 1 - December 16 at the MIT Stata Center Balcony Gallery (which is three floors up from the main entrance at 32 Vassar Street in Cambridge). Hours are 9a-5p on weekdays, and 12p-6p on weekends.

C12 Artists Include: Roberto Aimi, Joseph Farbrook, Eric Gunther, Seth Hunter, JackBackRack, Adam Kumpf, David Merrill, Rob Gonsalves, Christine Moran, Roy Pardi, Hayes Raffle, Mark Stock, Orkan Telhan, and William Tremblay
