H Bomb Is Back to Sex Up Your World*

113007-h-bomb.JPGH Bomb, the Harvard University sex magazine, vanished for reasons that had nothing to do with scabies. Last year, the people who ran H Bomb lost their status as an official student group. But Lingbo Li at the Crimson revealed this week that H Bomb is back in the school's good graces, and they will publish a new magazine on February 14.

H Bomb only published two issues, but a new editor, Martha ‘Martabel’ Wasserman, is already in charge. One student who was around for H Bomb's debut in 2004 told Li that he was already--ahem--excited to see the new issue: "“I thought it was awesome because we had barely been here for a month and there was a magazine full of Harvard students naked. I thought, ‘Wow, this is such a progressive university.’”

Was that really his first thought? We'd like to think his first thought was, "Hey, naked people! And yes she lives in my dorm!"

Bostonist went to another leading source on sex at Harvard--Lena Chen, who writes the blog Sex and the Ivy. Chen isn't working on the new H Bomb magazine, but she's glad it's back: "This re-launch is really like the beginning of a new era, especially since it comes on the heels of the controversy raised by TLR [True Love Revolution] and my blog over the past year. H-Bomb was very much a Harvard 'first' in terms of pushing the envelope and it's very fitting that it re-enters the fray at a time like this."

Mark your calendars for Valentine's Day to see if H Bomb pushes the envelope--or anything else.

*The Crimson already made a naughty pun about "coming" in its headline, so we've refrained.
