Breaking: Illegal Immigrants Mowed Romney's Lawn

101707-mitt-romney.jpg

During a dustup over illegal immigration at the CNN/YouTube Republican debate, Rudy Giuliani said of former Massachusetts governor and presidential aspirant Mitt Romney: "There was even a sanctuary mansion. At his own home, illegal immigrants were being employed."

Turns out he wasn't just being bitchy. He was right. Not only did Romney employ illegal immigrants in the past, but the Globe broke the news that he employed them right up to this day.

The Globe was the same outlet that busted him for having a "sanctuary mansion" in 2006, and apparently Romney didn't learn anything the first time around. So, it's not okay for illegal immigrants to be here, but it's okay for them to mow his yard?

Romney fired the company, Community Lawn Service with a Heart, today. He said in a statement that he trusted the company not to hire illegal immigrants after the first incident.

The issue of illegal immigration is make-or-break when it comes to winning the GOP nomination. Therefore, it's surprising that Romney, a successful businessman and PR pro, wouldn't go over these matters with a fine-tooth comb, or at least hire someone with US citizenship to do so.

Besides, Romney has five sons and a posse of relatives. Surely, he could give one of them or a grandkid some allowance money to mow the stinking yard.

From a strictly political viewpoint, this news is the worst timing possible for the Romney campaign, coming just as he prepares his "I Am Mormon, Hear Me Roar" speech.

He has $200 million and he's still too cheap to hire Americans - you can't really blame him. He thinks he's better than all of us so he doesn't need to spend his precious money. He never thought for a minute we'd find out, or that we'd care. He doesn't really have any thoughts or platform of his own - he's just a sock puppet who floats any way the wind blows. Don't get me wrong - he LOOKS fabulous! Really beautiful guy, got a great smile - and tall as all get out. My candidate just kinda looks like an old bantam rooster - that's funny 'cause it's so true. Dr. Ron Paul has been fighting the good fight for 20 years now in Congress. You all hear about him as Dr. No, but do you know he authors at least 10 pieces of legislation a year to REDUCE the federal government's power to those enumerate in the Constitution? Sometimes bills, but sometimes Constitutional Amendments too. He believes that if we need to do something that's not in the Constitution we should amend it to allow us to do so LEGALLY. You'll note this post WON'T be followed by one showing all his flip-flops... because there aren't any. I KNOW you've seen us all posting about him - why not take half an hour and see what the buzz is about at www.RonPaul2008.com? Or just look in the Federal Register?

I knew Ron Paul was in there somewhere. All this proves is that the Globe is relentless in promoting their agenda. Hope the laid-off Globe union members are happy with the spending priorities of their former employer. Perhaps the new corporate logo on Morrissey Blvd. can be a white whale?

Paul seems to be a good guy. He also is sincere and that's not the norm in politics these days. I think his small gov't plan is naive, possibly unrealistic, in many areas.

He also embraces the Dr. No moniker.

I'm with MJG on this one. Paul does seem to be all right. I don't think that the dating thing between him and the presidency will work out, but I love watching him on television.
