It's surprising that a dance night like Hearthrob could be so successful considering it has hardly more than a MySpace page and does little to no promotion. The reigning master of such success is still word-of-mouth, and that is something that the three New England-based DJs have built with their fortnightly event. Packed into the small, 125-capacity Middlesex Lounge every other Tuesday, Hearthrob brings in the up-and-coming and current favorites, turning a square room into one big extravaganza until the lights go up at 1am. Resident DJ's Baltimoroder and Red Foxx are joined by Morgan Louis from Providence, carrying the torch from their recently departed CEO, Sensitive Hand, who's gone off to explore new territories to expand the Hearthrob legacy.

Tonight's special guests hail from Providence, RI, and go by the name of the Peppermint Twinz. Half of that is the 21 year old talent Alvin Aronson, who uses the crafty moniker of Initiales A.A. Not originally born and raised in Providance, this Gatewood, Missouri native has been DJing for nearly 4 years now, and throws out some of the most mind-blowing mixes by pairing up tracks in ways that put the mash-up to shame. What he does is skillful, and listening to lots of Henrik Schwarz, Lifelike, and Jesse Rose probably hasn't hurt either. Having done remixes for local figures San Serac and Portable Sunsets, he's also been working on producing his own tracks. Two mixes you can listen to get you in the mood down below.

As for Hearthrob, here are some pointers for newcomers.
1. All are welcome
2. Get there early!
3. Wear colors, photos will be taken for Nicky Digital
4. Be ready to dance
