Boston Blotter: Missing Baby Found in East Somerville

120507-hayden-augustin-laurent.jpg--An 18-month-old baby girl from East Somerville was kidnapped, allegedly by her own aunt. WBZ reports that Somerville police found the baby today. Four people were arrested in the kidnapping of Hayden Augustin-Laurent, and one of them was her aunt, Ketia Valmont. Two detectives were hurt because one of those arrested went after them with a baseball bat.

Auditi Guha at the Somerville Journal reports that the kidnapping may have resulted from a fight over whether or not Hayden should return to Haiti, where her father lives.

--An elderly woman was assaulted in her Dorchester home by another, younger woman yesterday morning. WBZ reports that the woman asked to use the phone, got inside, hit the elderly woman on the head, and then threatened her with a knife while stealing her valuables.

--A pregnant woman might wind up on the DSS hot list before her baby is even born. The Herald reports that Kristie Hall, 24, of Concord, was arrested for shooting up heroin in the parking lot of a McDonald's in Lawrence. Hall happens to be nine months pregnant. Hall has already been in trouble for using heroin in front of her 2-year-old child.

All charges alleged until proven under law. This picture of Hayden Augustin Laurent comes from the Somerville Journal. Bostonist is reprinting it since this is a missing-persons case.
