Waiting List

As the presidential race heats up, Barack Obama isn't messing around. He's already been to Boston several times and paid extra-special attention to New Hampshire, but now he's uncorking his secret weapon--Oprah Winfrey. Winfrey will be with Obama in South Carolina Sunday morning, and then they'll zip up to New Hampshire Sunday night. The Globe reports that all 10,000 tickets have been snapped up.

Someone has already announced on Craigslist that he or she will pay $50 if you have a ticket. You can also get on a waiting list via Obama's campaign site.

HubTrotter checked out Obama's speech when the candidate made an appearance at the Park Plaza Hotel and declared he was "effective at getting a crowd charged up." If you go or were lucky enough to get a ticket, prepare yourself for the blinding flashes of charisma that Oprah and Obama will beam into the crowd. But you won't be getting a free car--surely campaign finance laws prevent that.

Don't forget: The New Hampshire primary is on January 8. The Massachusetts primary will be on Tuesday, February 5.
